Account Settings & Profile Management

Access your account settings from the user menu in the top-right corner, or navigate directly to Settings.

Your settings page is the central place for managing how you sign in, how your profile appears in the app, and how your account stays secure over time. If you use more than one browser or device, it is worth reviewing this page regularly so your account details, connected sign-in methods, and security controls stay up to date.

Profile

Update your display name and profile picture. Your display name appears in the app but isn't visible to other users.

To update your profile:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Edit your name or upload a new avatar
  3. Click Save

Password

If you signed up with email and password, you can change your password here.

  1. Go to Settings → Password
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Enter and confirm your new password
  4. Click Update Password

If you signed up with Google, Discord, or Twitter/X only, you will not see a password section. Your authentication is handled by the OAuth provider.

Connected accounts

View and manage your OAuth connections (Google, Discord, Twitter/X). You can:

  • Connect a new provider to your account
  • Disconnect a provider (as long as you have another sign-in method)

For details, see OAuth Connections.

Active sessions

View all devices and browsers where you're currently signed in. Each session shows:

  • Browser and operating system
  • IP address
  • Last active time

You can revoke any session to sign out that device remotely.

For details, see Sessions & Security.

Notifications

Use the notifications area to review your email preferences. These settings help you control which account-related emails you receive from NovelHub Translate.

Typical notification preferences include:

  • Account emails such as important sign-in or account-related notices
  • Billing emails such as subscription or payment updates
  • Product updates such as feature announcements or service news

If you want fewer emails, turn off optional updates while keeping essential account messages enabled. Important operational emails may still be sent when they are required for account access, billing, or security.

Danger zone

The danger zone contains permanent account actions, including account deletion.

Before deleting your account, make sure you have finished anything you want to keep. Deleting an account is intended for situations where you no longer want to use NovelHub Translate and do not want the account to remain active.

If you choose to delete your account:

  1. Review your current sign-in methods and active sessions
  2. Download any exported files you still need
  3. Confirm the deletion action carefully

Because deletion is a destructive action, treat it as final unless the product explicitly states otherwise.

Theme

Switch between Light, Dark, and System themes. The System option matches your operating system's appearance setting.

You can also switch themes using the command palette.

Tips

  • Use more than one sign-in method. Connecting Google, Discord, or Twitter/X in addition to email and password gives you a backup login option.
  • Keep your password unique. If you use password login, avoid reusing the same password from other sites.
  • Review sessions regularly. If you no longer use a shared or old device, revoke that session.
  • Check your profile details occasionally. Keeping your name, avatar, and notification settings current makes account recovery and day-to-day use easier.
  • Use the right theme for long reading sessions. Dark or system theme can make extended reading more comfortable, especially at night.
