Real-Time Streaming Translation Guide
When you translate a chapter, the text streams into the reader in real time. You can start reading before the full translation finishes.
How streaming works
After you click Translate on a chapter:
- The server begins translating the chapter paragraph by paragraph
- Each translated paragraph appears in the reader as it's ready
- A progress indicator shows overall completion
- When finished, the full chapter is saved to your library
You do not need to wait for the entire chapter to load. Start reading from the top while the rest translates below.
During translation
While a chapter is streaming:
- Scroll freely — Read at your own pace while new paragraphs appear
- Progress indicator — Shows how much of the chapter has been translated
- Auto-scroll — The page doesn't force-scroll; you stay where you are
Once translation completes, the chapter is cached. Opening it again loads instantly without re-translating.
Credit usage
Credits are deducted only after a translation completes successfully. If the translation fails or is interrupted, no credits are charged.
When a translation begins, the estimated credits are locked (reserved) from your balance to prevent over-spending during concurrent translations. If the translation succeeds, the locked credits are consumed. If it fails, they are released back to your balance immediately.
The number of credits used depends on the chapter's length. Longer chapters cost more credits.
Re-translating a chapter
If you want a fresh translation of an already-translated chapter:
- Open the chapter in the reader
- Click the Re-translate button
- The new translation streams in, replacing the previous one
Re-translation costs credits just like the first translation.
Troubleshooting
Translation stuck or not progressing
- Check your internet connection
- Refresh the page and try again
- If the problem persists, the translation server may be temporarily busy — wait a few minutes
Translation cut off mid-chapter
This can happen if the connection drops. Refresh the page and re-translate the chapter. You won't be charged for the incomplete attempt.
Text appearing garbled
This is rare but can happen with unusual formatting in the source text. Try re-translating the chapter. If it persists, report it through the feedback button in the reader.
