Reader Guide — Navigation & Features

The NovelHub reader is designed for comfortable, distraction-free reading of translated chapters. This guide covers navigation, customization, and key features.

Reader layout

When you open a translated chapter, you'll see:

  • Header bar — Novel title, chapter title, and back button
  • Main content area — The translated chapter text
  • Floating action panel — Quick access buttons on the right side
  • Chapter drawer — Slide-out panel with the full chapter list

Floating action panel

The floating panel on the right side of the reader provides quick access to common actions:

ButtonFunction
Scroll to top of chapter
Scroll to bottom of chapter
Like / DislikeRate the translation quality
FeedbackReport translation issues
ChaptersOpen chapter drawer
NovelGo back to novel details
SettingsOpen reading settings

The panel stays visible as you scroll, so these actions are always one click away.

There are two ways to move between chapters:

Arrow buttons: Click the left or right arrow at the bottom of the content area.

Chapter drawer: Click the Chapters button in the floating panel to see all chapters. Click any chapter to jump to it.

Your reading progress is saved automatically. When you return to a novel, you can continue from where you left off.

Chapter drawer

The chapter drawer slides in from the side and shows:

  • All chapters in the novel
  • Translation status for each chapter
  • Like/dislike counts for translated chapters

To open: Click the Chapters button in the floating panel.

To close: Click outside the drawer or click the X button.

Reading settings

Click the Settings button in the floating panel to customize your reading experience.

Font size

Adjust from 14px to 28px. Default is 18px.

Choose a size that is comfortable for extended reading. Larger fonts are easier on the eyes but show less content per screen.

Line height

Adjust from 1.4 to 2.3. Default is 1.8.

Higher line height adds more space between lines, which can improve readability for dense text.

Content width

Adjust from 560px to 920px. Default is 720px.

Narrower widths are easier to scan. Wider widths show more content but may be harder to read quickly.

Rhythm mode

The reader includes a rhythm-mode preference. It is a lightweight reading-style setting rather than a separate typewriter-mode screen.

Themes

NovelHub supports three themes:

  • Light — White background, dark text
  • Dark — Dark background, light text
  • System — Matches your operating system setting

Change themes in Settings → Appearance, or use the command palette and search for "theme".

Reading progress sync

Your progress syncs automatically across devices:

  • Current chapter and scroll position.
  • Last read timestamp
  • Completed chapters

Sign in to your account on any device to pick up where you left off.

Feedback

Found a translation problem? Use the feedback button in the floating action panel to report it:

  1. Click the Feedback button in the floating panel
  2. Select a category that best describes the issue (inaccurate, missing content, poor formatting, or other)
  3. Optionally add details explaining the problem
  4. Click Submit

You can also use the like/dislike buttons to quickly rate a translation. Your feedback helps improve future translations.

Reader settings storage

Reader display settings such as font size, line height, width, and rhythm mode are currently saved in your browser on that device. Reading progress syncs with your account, but display preferences may differ between devices.
