The service includes a web application and a Chrome browser extension. It is operated by the NovelHub Team, with servers located in the Hetzner datacenter in Ashburn, Virginia, USA.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NovelHub Translate, our Chrome browser extension, or any related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our service.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the service.

2. Description of Service

NovelHub Translate provides:

• Web Application: A full-featured translation and reading platform at translate.novelhub.io
• Browser Extension: A Chrome extension that integrates with supported Chinese novel platforms
• Translation Services: AI-powered translation using advanced language models

3. Account Registration

Creating an Account

To use certain features, you must create an account. You can register using:

• Email address and password
• Google OAuth
• Discord OAuth
• Twitter/X OAuth

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate information during registration
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized account access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. User Obligations

Permitted Uses

You may use NovelHub Translate to:

• Translate Chinese web novels for personal reading
• Use the browser extension on supported platforms
• Save and organize your translations
• Review terminology entries and translated chapters to monitor consistency

Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Use the service to bypass paywalls, access pirated content, or translate chapters you do not have legitimate access to on the source site
• Bypass usage limits or access controls
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers (except our official browser extension)
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the service's source code
• Use the service for commercial purposes without explicit permission
• Share your account credentials with others
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Upload malicious code or content

NovelHub is designed for personal, non-commercial use. We respect the intellectual property rights of original authors and publishers.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You own the translation output generated through your use of the service. You may export and use your translations for personal purposes.

NovelHub's Property

The NovelHub platform, including the web application, browser extension, translation algorithms, database architecture, and our trademarks and branding, remains the intellectual property of the NovelHub Team.

Source Novel Rights

Translation output is derived from source novels written by original authors. The copyrights to these original works belong to their respective authors and publishers. NovelHub does not claim ownership over source content.

You acknowledge that:

• Source novels are protected by copyright
• Translations are derivative works
• You should support original authors when possible
• NovelHub is not responsible for copyright disputes arising from your use of translations

6. Credits and Billing

Credit System

NovelHub Translate uses a credit-based system. Translation credits are consumed based on source text length: 1 credit per 100 Chinese characters. A typical chapter of 3,000–5,000 characters costs approximately 30–50 credits.

Pricing Plans

Credit Policies

• Monthly Reset: Credits reset at the beginning of each billing cycle
• No Rollover: Unused credits do not carry over
• No Cash Value: Credits cannot be exchanged for money
• Non-Transferable: Credits cannot be transferred between accounts

Payment Processing

• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• We do not store your full credit card information
• You will be charged at the beginning of each billing cycle
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice

Refund Policy

• Consumed credits are non-refundable
• Subscribers may request a full refund within 7 days of their first payment if no credits have been used — see our Refund Policy for full details
• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period

7. Browser Extension Terms

Supported Platforms

The NovelHub Chrome extension works only on these supported Chinese novel platforms:

All four platforms are fully supported.

The extension will not function on any other websites.

8. Translation Quality Disclaimer

AI Translation Limitations

NovelHub uses artificial intelligence to translate Chinese text into English. Please understand:

• Translations are approximate: AI may not capture all nuances, idioms, or cultural references
• Quality varies: Accuracy depends on source text complexity, genre, and writing style
• No perfection guarantee: We do not guarantee error-free or publication-quality translations
• Context matters: AI may misinterpret context, character names, or specialized terminology

Best Practices

For best results:

• Review translations and use the terminology feature to improve consistency
• Report significant errors to help us improve
• Use translations for reading enjoyment, not as definitive interpretations
• Consult human translators for critical or commercial purposes

We work to improve translation quality but cannot guarantee perfect accuracy.

9. Service Availability

Uptime

We strive to maintain high service availability. However, we provide the service on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

Maintenance

We may perform scheduled maintenance to improve the service. We will attempt to:

• Provide advance notice for planned maintenance
• Schedule maintenance during low-usage periods
• Minimize service disruption

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Fail to pay applicable fees
• Are inactive for an extended period

Effects of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your access to the service ends immediately
• Your translations and data will be deleted
• Unused credits are refundable per our Refund Policy. Used credits and partial subscription periods are not refundable
• Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

12. Limitation of Liability

To the Maximum Extent Permitted by Law

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months
• We are not responsible for content translated through the service
• We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or use of the service

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the NovelHub Team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through:

1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
2. Mediation if negotiation fails
3. Binding arbitration or court proceedings in the State of Delaware, United States

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes:
