Export Translations as TXT and EPUB
Pro plan users can export translated chapters as TXT or EPUB files for offline reading, archiving, or use with e-readers.
Exports are useful when you want a portable copy of your translated reading progress outside the browser. You can keep a local archive, move a novel onto an e-reader, or open the file in your preferred reading app.
Plan requirement
| Plan | Export |

Exporting a novel
- Open a novel from your dashboard
- Click the Export button
- Choose your format: TXT or EPUB
- Wait for the export to generate
- Download the file
Only translated chapters are included in the export. Untranslated chapters are skipped.
What's included in exports
Exports include the translated content that is currently available in your novel. In practical terms, that means:
- Translated chapters only
- Chapter headings and reading order
- Basic novel metadata where supported, such as title and author
- EPUB structure such as a table of contents and separate chapter sections
Untranslated chapters are skipped, so an export reflects the translated progress of the novel at the time you generate it. If you translate more chapters later, create a new export to get an updated file.
Format comparison
| Feature | TXT | EPUB |
|---|---|---|
| Plain text | ✅ | ✅ |
| Chapter structure | Basic separators | Full table of contents |
| Metadata | None | Title, author |
| E-reader support | Universal | Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books, etc. |
| File size | Smaller | Slightly larger |
TXT format
A plain text file with all translated chapters separated by chapter headings. Simple, universal, works everywhere.
EPUB format
A structured e-book file with:
- Cover page (if available)
- Table of contents
- Individual chapters
- Title and author metadata
EPUB files work with most e-readers and reading apps.
Re-exporting
If you translate additional chapters or re-translate existing ones, export again to get an updated file. Each export generates a fresh file with the latest translations, replacing the previous export.
Troubleshooting
Export button not visible
Make sure you're on the Pro plan. Export is a Pro-only feature.
Export taking too long
Large novels with many chapters take longer to generate. Wait for the process to complete and avoid refreshing the page while the export is being prepared.
Some chapters are missing from the file
Only translated chapters are included. If a chapter has not been translated yet, it will not appear in the TXT or EPUB export.
The file looks outdated
If you translated new chapters or re-translated old ones after your last download, generate a new export. Exports are snapshots, not live files that update automatically.
EPUB not opening on my device
Most modern e-readers support EPUB natively. If yours doesn't, try a free reader app like Calibre (desktop) or Apple Books (iOS/Mac).
TXT formatting looks too simple
That is expected. TXT exports are plain text files designed for maximum compatibility. If you want structured chapters, metadata, and a table of contents, choose EPUB instead.
Tips for best results
- Use EPUB for e-readers. EPUB is usually the best choice for Kindle workflows, tablets, and reading apps because it preserves chapter structure better than TXT.
- Translate the chapters you need first. Since untranslated chapters are skipped, finish the sections you want before exporting.
- Re-export after major updates. If you add many chapters or improve terminology and re-translate, download a fresh file so your local copy matches the latest version.
- Choose TXT for universal compatibility. If you need the simplest possible format for copy, archive, or manual processing, TXT is easier to open almost anywhere.
