Batch Translate Multiple Chapters

Batch translation lets you translate multiple chapters in one go instead of clicking each chapter individually. This feature is available on Starter and Pro plans.

TL;DR — Select multiple chapters → click "Translate Selected" → chapters queue and translate automatically. Requires Starter ($4.99/mo) or Pro ($14.99/mo) plan.

How it works

Batch translation uses both the browser extension and the API:

  1. Extension scrapes — The extension visits each chapter URL and extracts content
  2. API translates — The server translates each chapter using AI
  3. Progress updates — You see real-time progress in the batch panel

Because scraping happens in your browser, keep the tab open while batch translation runs. Closing the tab or browser interrupts the process.

Starting a batch translation

  1. Open a novel from your dashboard
  2. Click the Batch Translate button
  3. Select the chapters you want to translate
  4. Review the estimated credit cost
  5. Click Start Batch

Chapters that are already translated are grayed out and won't be selected by default.

Credit estimation

Before starting, you'll see an estimate of credits needed based on the number and length of selected chapters. Actual credit usage may vary since chapter lengths differ. You're only charged for successful translations.

Monitoring progress

The batch panel shows:

  • Progress bar — Overall completion percentage
  • Current chapter — Which chapter is being translated
  • Status indicators — Pending, in progress, completed, or failed
  • Credits used — Running total of credits consumed

You can leave the batch panel open while doing other things in the app, but don't close the browser tab.

Tips for batch translation

Start small — Try a batch of 5-10 chapters first to make sure everything works smoothly.

Check credits — Make sure you have enough credits before starting a large batch. You can see your balance in the quota badge on your dashboard.

Stable connection — A stable internet connection helps prevent interruptions. If your connection drops, the batch may fail and need to be restarted.

Troubleshooting

Batch won't start

  • Make sure you're on Starter or Pro plan
  • Check that the extension is installed and working
  • Verify you have enough credits for the selected chapters

Chapters failing

Individual chapter failures don't stop the entire batch. After the batch completes, you can retry failed chapters individually or start a new batch with just the failed chapters.

Extension disconnected during batch

If the extension loses connection mid-batch:

  1. Check that the extension is still enabled
  2. Refresh the page
  3. Start a new batch with the remaining chapters
